Our Chieftains and Broncos brought home the ribbons this week, with CCSD students making up nearly half of the entire show sale! From champion steers to grand champion lambs, our FFA members and young exhibitors proved once again that hard work in the barn pays off in the ring. #1Vision1Mission #CCSDNo22

SHIPROCK FFA

Samantha Shorty placed 4th in Class 3 and 5th in Class 7 with her goats. Sakari Frazier claimed the Class 1 Champion Steer title, plus a 4th place finish in Class 3 steers and a 4th place goat in Class 8. Braylon Frazier had a strong showing across the board, placing 3rd and 6th in steer classes and picking up two more top-8 steer finishes, along with a 6th place goat.

NOT YET IN FFA, STILL REPRESENTING CCSD

Second grader Ryan Brady of Judy Nelson Elementary took home the Lamb Champion Booster Showmen title. Third grader Kolton Frazier of Eva B. Stokely Elementary placed 4th with his lamb in Class 10 and 5th with his goat in Class 5.

KIRTLAND FFA — CHAMPION & RESERVE CHAMPION TITLES

Sheep: Grand Champion Lamb, Grand Champion Blackface, Grand and Reserve Champion Speck, Grand and Reserve Champion Southdown, Reserve Champion Dorset, Reserve Champion Hair Sheep, Grand Champion Senior Showman (3rd overall), Grand Champion Junior Showman, and 2nd and 3rd overall Senior Showmanship for lambs.

Goats: Grand Champion Goat, Grand Champion Division 3, Reserve Champion Division 3, Grand Champion Division 4, Grand Champion Division 5, and 3rd overall Senior Goat Showman.

Hogs: Reserve Grand Champion Hog, Reserve Champion Berkshire, Reserve Champion Duroc, Grand Champion York, Reserve Champion Hampshire, Reserve Champion Dark OPB, Reserve Champion Light OPB, Grand Champion Dark Crossbred, Grand Champion Light Crossbred, Champion Senior Hog Showman, and Grand and Reserve Champion Junior Showman.

Cattle: Class Champion, 2nd Reserve Class Champion, Champion Junior Showman (3rd overall).

Poultry: Grand Champion Layer, Grand Champion Waterfowl, Senior Champion Poultry Showmanship.

Rabbit: Best of Show – New Zealand, Senior Reserve Champion Rabbit Showmanship.

Horse: Grand Champion Gelding, Reserve Grand Champion Mare, Reserve Senior High Point Horse Showman.

CCSD students also picked up numerous top-6 placings across nearly every species entered! Congratulations to all our young exhibitors for their dedication, early mornings, and hard work.
