Administration's Welcome

My name is Dr. J. Kaibah Begay, Principal at Tse bit' a'i. I believe communication, collaboration, and commitment with students, parents, and staff, and community is essential to have students succeed in everything they do. As an educator, I believe we can and will make a difference in each student's life with positive influence with our words, encouragement, and commitment to the students this year Tse Bit Ai Mid School.

I strongly believe we need to bridge the communication and working relationship; ensuring that transitions happen from elementary to middle school and from middle school to high school. We all have to have the same goals, the same vision, and the same mission -- making sure students succeed.

I have over 26 years of experience working with students in all areas, from substance abuse, counseling, community outreach, teaching from early childhood to middle school level, including leadership positions within the Navajo Nation and Central Consolidated School District.

I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, as well as Master's degree in Counseling and a second Master's in Educational Leadership, both from Western New Mexico University. I also have received my Doctorate Degree from Arizona State University in Educational Administration and Supervision.

I am looking forward to collaborating with all the students, parents, staff, and community of Shiprock and surrounding communities to improve our student's educational learning.

This is my favorite quote: "When it comes to the education for our children, failure is NOT an option." -- George W. Bush
