Educational Technology at CCSD

Central Consolidated School District is committed to equipping every student with the tools they need to learn, create, and prepare for life beyond graduation. Below is an overview of the technology students have access to across our schools.

The Technology Department has two goals:

  • Complete 90% of all work orders by end of next day
  • All work orders completed within 10 days.

Grades Kindergarten–8th Grade

Students in grades K–8 are issued an iPad with a protective keyboard case. The case includes an integrated trackpad for mouse cursor navigation, supporting both touch and cursor-based use.

High School (Grades 9–12)

High school students receive an M4 MacBook laptop with a protective case, designed to support coursework, CTE pathways, dual credit courses, and college preparation.

Campus Infrastructure

All three high school campuses have Mac Mini desktop labs available for student use. Chromeboxes are also available at select locations as additional workstations. Classrooms district-wide are equipped with Promethean interactive boards integrated with the OPS system, providing faster response times and a more seamless display experience for instruction.

Game Labs

Select campuses feature dedicated Game Labs for digital exploration and technology engagement. Game Labs are currently located at Shiprock High School, Newcomb High School, and Kirtland Central High School.

    Wi-Fi Change

    The guest Wi-Fi is no longer available to the general public, as it was meant to be temporary during the time all students were taking classes remotely, and caused serious bandwidth slow down issues. Personal devices are not supported on our network or Wi-Fi. Guest access is only provided by special request to site administrators for vendors performing work at a site. For Internet access on personal devices, please use your cell phone service provider.

    Web Filter

    Central Consolidated School District utilizes the Securly web filter solution in order to properly permit or block web content and remain compliant with the U.S. Children’s Internet Protection Act. Securly utilizes a certificate in order accurately inspect and decrypt certain websites. These websites include Google, YouTube, Bing, and Yahoo. The Securly certificate is deployed automatically on any CCSD Microsoft Windows device. Other devices will have limited Internet access, which may result in SSL certificate errors unless the certificate is manually installed.
